Middle School SS Newsletter & Activities January 30-February 3, 2017
 
Geography - This week is Catholic Schools Week and we have plenty to celebrate.  In class, we will study the Indian Subcontinent and also have an introduction to the Stock Market Game.  Have a grand week!
 
World History - Welcome to Catholic Schools Week!  It is also the first full week to work on the play.  Make sure you practice and work on learning lines and action as homework.  We will have auditions for the main roles on Monday and choose the leads and then fill in the other characters – plenty to go around.  We have 3 ½ weeks to prepare, so keep on task.  We will also write a new scene for the play, a GSS tradition.
 
US History – We will only be together once during the week due to Catholic Schools Week.  Students should be working on their Learning Centers and finish the Gala Art Project.  Next week, we will begin presenting the Learning Center Powerpoints.  Remember, extra credit packets are due this Thursday, February 2.
 
Activities
 
Vintage Gaming Club – Vintage Gaming Club will meet Monday January 30 from 2:30 – 3:30 PM.  Sports and Quest games will be the focus.
 
Math Counts – Math Counts will meet Monday January 30 from 2:30 – 3:30 PM in Mrs. Jones classroom/
 
Creative Writing – Creative Writing will meet Monday January 30 from 2:30 – 3:30 PM in the Computer Lab.
 
KUNA – KUNA will meet on Tuesday, January 31 from 2:30 – 3:30 PM.  Today is the deadline for scholarships to be turned in.  We will work on proposals and art projects.
 
Student Council – Student Council will meet from 2:30 – 3:30 PM on Thursday February 2 in the Science Lab.
 
Press Corps – Press Corps will meet on Thursday February 2 from 2:30 – 3:30 PM in the main building.
