We are Good Shepherd Catholic School, a ministry of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
It is our mission to put Christ at the Heart of It All.
We recognize each student as a child of God, destined for eternal happiness. While the main responsibility for the education of the child is based in the home, we share in the moral, religious, and educational growth of the students entrusted to our guidance. We consider it a privilege and duty to educate the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. We provide a balanced program which incorporates the teachings and values of the Catholic Faith into the curriculum. We endeavor to make each student aware of his/her religious responsibilities toward self, the community, the nation, and the world. We hope that each student will leave Good Shepherd with a strong sense of both his/her selfworth as a child of God and his/her need to achieve peace within oneself and in the world.
Each day at GSCS begins and ends with prayer and prayer is incorporated throughout the day. Our students attend Mass weekly and on Holy Days. The school also participates in special devotions such as Rosary, Stations of the Cross, and Divine Mercy Chaplet. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered to our students on a regular basis also.
Service is also important at GSCS. Students are encouraged to show care for others through class and school-wide service projects as well as participation in parish and community service opportunities such as a canned food drive for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
