Illnesses
As we watch COVID, cold, and flu cases rise, we need to continue to take every precaution to keep our students, families, and staff members healthy. If your child is exhibiting symptoms (see attached image), please keep them home. I promise that our teachers will do everything in their power to catch them back up once they return to school.
Student absences need to be reported to both the teacher and school office no later than 7:30am. This way, we know who is in the building as we keep an eye on student illness numbers. Additionally, make-up work will be available for pick-up starting at 2:00pm. Older students should check their GSS email for directions on any virtual work.
Snow Days
If we were to call a delay to the start of the day (1 hour or 2 hour), this would impact everyone’s start time. Normally, our doors open at 7:00 am, and the official start of school begins at 7:25 am. Below you will find the breakdown of these adjusted times for both a 1-hour delay and a 2-hour delay.
1-hour Delay
Doors open at 8:00 am
School starts at 8:25 am
2-hour Delay
Door open at 9:00 am
School starts at 9:25 am
Mr. Lynch and I will make the decision by 5:30am on the weather day in question. If we have a delay or school closure, we will notify the following news stations (LEX18, WKYT, ABC) along with sending out MSP emails/alerts, posting to the school website, and sharing on social media.
