Some of the topics we will be looking at are cultural differences, privilege, discrimination and societal roles. Seventh Grade World History students will start out with a weeks look at the Olympics creating reports on the history of the Olympics and events that have surrounded the games. They will then study Economics for three weeks using the NCEE Financial Fitness for Life material. Lessons are on concepts such as choice, opportunity cost and the roles of savings and credit in today’s world. Sixth Grade Geography students will start out with the basics studying the themes of Geography and Maps and map parts. Students in all classes will be taking a quiz on the rules and routines on Tuesday. Parents should be looking for Homework Sheets on Monday nights. The homework sheets give an overview of the week’s lessons, reading and assignments and if signed by parents, give students a bonus point they can use to add to their grades.
