Middle School / Social Studies Newsletter
September 5-9, 2016
 
6 ^th Grade              This week, we will work on our world maps in class.  We will use the maps for our Landmark presentations and it is an excellent way to become more familiar with the location of places in the world.  Next week we will begin with our regular study of Geography and Places in the World. 
7th Grade            We finish Econ this week and will play the Game of Life on Thursday and Friday.  The game should reinforce our study of choices, criteria, alternatives and opportunity cost.  Next week we will begin our look at World History
8th Grade            We finish Early America this week and begin the English Colonies.  Friday we will watch a video examining the Lost Colony of Roanoke. 
 
Clubs and Activities
 
Aegean Service Club – Aegean Service Club will meet Wednesday September 7 from 2:30 – 3:30.  Members will be helping teachers in the classroom.
GSS Press Corps – Press Corps members will be taping and editing the first broadcast from 2:30 – 3:30 on Wednesday September 7.
Student Council – Student Council will meet Thursday September 8 from 2:30 – 3:30.  The Back to School Activity and New student welcome packets are on the agenda.
Vintage Gaming Club – Vintage Gaming Club starts this Friday.  Coleco and NES systems will be demonstrated.  The meeting is open to all Middle School students and meets from 2:30-3:30.
